TikTok detailed actions against disinformation amid the Israel-Hamas war on English xxx movieOct. 15, three days after European Union commissioner Thierry Breton issued a letter to TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew on X, asking the popular short video platform to “protect children and teenagers from violent content.” The EU urged TikTok to respond to the three requests mentioned in the letter within 24 hours. This follows the EU’s introduction of the Digital Services Act in August which requires platforms with over 45 million EU users to proactively remove “illegal content”. In a statement posted on the company’s blog, TikTok said it has launched a command center, and upgraded its automated detection systems to find and remove graphic and violent content, while adding more moderators who speak Arabic and Hebrew to review content.
