Elon Musk has praised the Chinese team behind DeepSeek,Yoshihiro Tanbara Archives stating, “You can expect that they will do many great things, DeepSeek being one of them.” However, he downplayed the ChatGPT rival’s impact, adding, “But is it some complete revolution in AI? No, it is not. xAI and others will soon be releasing models that are better than DeepSeek.” The comments were made as part of the Tesla CEO’s appearance at Germany’s WELT Economic Summit at the end of January, video of which was shared to YouTube on Saturday.
